How satisfied you are with your liposuction result depends on the expectations you go in with.

Liposuction as per the definitions quoted in medical contexts is the removal of fat (which has been accumulated beneath the skin) with the help of a cannula (hollow stainless steel tube) and a strong vacuum. 

It is usually recommended for those who are so conscious about their physical appearance that looking un-presentable interferes with their self-esteem and capacity to be productive, and for people who are not able to lose the fat in certain parts of the body.

It was observed that the skin of people, who are fat and overweight for a long time, loses its elasticity to a large extent and hence the liposuction result might not be the best possible one.

Liposuction is usually a very safe procedure which involves the least amount of risk among all the cosmetic surgeries. However, in order to get the best results with the least side-effects, one has to be careful to complete all the pre-procedure formalities. For this, the patients would need to complete all the requisite examinations regarding their blood clotting, immune system and other aspects which would have an impact on the liposuction result; they would also have to inform the doctor about all the health issues that they have experienced in the past so the risks can be minimized.

Some of the most common complications from liposuction are scarring, return of fat too soon, lumpiness, etc. However, these can be avoided if you follow the pre and post instructions carefully.
