There is No Such Thing as Cheap Liposuction

Is there a thing like cheap liposuction?

I have heard many people saying liposuction is cheap. This is a correct statement when comparing liposuction to any of the other methods of cosmetic surgery.

However, there is no such thing as cheap liposuction. In my opinion this actually sounds a little derogatory. While liposuction is indeed less costly than any other cosmetic surgery, it is definitely not cheap.

Cost of Cosmetic Surgery v/s Liposuction

Women have, from time immemorial, fought tooth and nail against the ravages of age. In ancient times there were many magic potions which could keep a woman young for a long time. However, the modern world having almost destroyed the indigenous knowledge of the past is now relying more and more on modern medicine.

Cosmetic surgery is a hot favorite of both men and women today. The cost of most of these surgeries is totally prohibitive, running into tens of thousands depending upon the surgeon and type of surgical procedure involved. However, since the results are great to say the least, it remains the most popular voluntary surgery in the world.

Liposuction is also a cosmetic surgery by definition. It differs mainly in two major factors, (i) the risks involved and

 (ii) the cost involved.  The risks that go with the different types of cosmetic surgery are far greater than those one encounters with liposuction, mainly because liposuction is almost non-invasive. The recovery period too is much less and has fewer complications than that of the cosmetic surgery. Similarly while the costs of cosmetic surgery can shoot through the roof, liposuction usually involves a ceiling of $5000, give or take a few extras. However, as mentioned a little earlier, I would not say that $5000 is actually cheap.

Cheap Liposuction or Cost-Effective Liposuction

I do not agree that liposuction is cheap. Cheaper? Yes. Cost-effective? Yes. But not cheap. So, when I hear people saying things like “cheap liposuction”, I hasten to correct them. There are many types of liposuction based on the areas where these are performed. You can have a ‘cheap liposuction’ if you go to an inexperienced doctor who practices in a very remote place. But I would advise you against it. There are many complications that can arise from such a surgery and you will end up losing more than you gained.
